They are warm, but not too warm - even when its 75-80 degrees outside, I still wear them. Don't care what people think. They do run big so order down a size. I'm an 8.5 or sometimes a 9 and bought the 8, and they are perfect, but I worry they might be large eventually, as I've read that they do give a bit over time, so we'll see. If you're a narrow 8.5, I would think you might even go down to the 7, but I'm not sure.
